01 / SOUND & VISION
MUSIC
Fragments from unseen realities.
02 / AENUMA VII
Between roots and echoes.
AENUMA VII (أنوما ٧) is where I bring together the music I write and the worlds I imagine. Rooted in Mesopotamia and drawn toward Norse influences, it takes shape through dark folk, metal and orchestral composition.
The name comes from Enuma Elish, the Babylonian creation epic, with VII referring to its seven tablets. That connection to creation feels close to the work itself: a scene imagined in solitude, a sound taking shape, separate ideas gradually becoming a world of their own.
Music often begins for me with an image. I imagine the scale of a place, the tension of a moment, or something a character cannot say. Sometimes the scene needs very little. Sometimes it calls for weight, movement, and overwhelming force. I follow those impressions until they become music.
Electric guitar, the bowed resonance of the talharpa, keyboard, frame drums, and rock and metal percussion form much of my palette. Arabic maqams such as Hijaz sometimes enter that language too. I am interested in what happens when these sounds meet, how a melody changes character through another instrument, or how a rough, intimate sound can sit within a vast cinematic arrangement.
Films, shows, games, and live performances have shaped the way I listen and imagine. I am drawn to the details that make a fictional world feel convincing, to stories that hold their tension, and to performances whose force stays with you afterward. Much of my writing happens alone, giving those impressions time to become something of my own.
I compose, perform, record and produce the music, drawing on years of playing and more than two decades in the creative industry. I have recently begun exploring AI visual creation, combining it with my longstanding experience in graphic and 3D design, storyboarding, art direction, editing, color grading and sound design to create short films around my compositions. The music and images develop together, each giving the other somewhere to go.
AENUMA VII continues to grow through this relationship between sound and image. I am open to collaborations with filmmakers, directors and artists who see a place for this music in the worlds they are creating.
